    January's SkandiKaffe will be held on Thursday, January 15, 10 AM, at the Tee Jaye's at 4560 High St., Columbus, OH 43214. We’d love to share coffee & brunch with you!

    Scandi Night- Blue Jackets - Tampa Bay,  Sat. Jan 24.

    Welcome  to the Jacket's special  Scandinavian Heritage  Night 2026!

    We will get first class treatment as a Scandinavian culture accociation. There will be reduced price tickets, a private get-together  before the game, and meeting players thereafter.  And a group photo with us  at the famous Goal Cannon !

    This is a Premium game

    - on a Saturday night,

    a high ranked opponent Tampa (we intend to reset them)

    and Scandi folks screaming very loud so the ice cracks!

    In the Jackets new roster, we are happy to welcome  Isac Lundeström  from Gällivare, far up  in Sweden.  This is about 60 miles north of the polar circle. He started high level hockey at age 16,  came over to the US 2018, and was part of Sweden defeating Canada 2024.  His Jackets contract is  $ 2.6 million for 2 yrs. 

      

    Seems that Isac is really happy. Maybe he just scored!

    . The game starts at 7 PM and usually takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours. 

    Post game activities includes meeting Jackets players soon after game over.

    Meet and Greet with Elsa Lemmila  - OSU Women's Basketball at the Schottenstein Arena



    Join the Scandinavian Club again this year as we cheer on Finnish native Elsa Lemmila!  She returns to Ohio State for her sophomore year as the 6'6" center for the women's basketball team.   

    We will cheer her on Sunday, February 15 as the Buckeyes once again take on the Maryland Terrapins.    The game will be the wear pink game in honor of women's health month. 


    Schedule:

    1 p.m.    Doors open, arrival, and picture at center court
    2 p.m.   Tipoff
    4 p.m. / after the game - meet and greet with Elsa! 

    Tickets cost $18 and an event link for seating will be sent out in early January.  REGISTRATION LIMITED!  Only 30 seats available.  Sign up early!

    Celebrate Fastelavn with Us!

    Join us for a festive Danish tradition filled with fun, food, and family! Fastelavn is Denmark’s beloved pre-Lenten holiday, where children and adults alike dress up in costumes, enjoy delicious pastries, and take part in the exciting "slå katten af tønden" (hit the cat out of the barrel) game.

    We'll also celebrate our Club's birthday with cake and other "yums! Plus, we'll learn about what Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) students learned about Scandinavian happiness and wellness during a recent visit to Denmark and Sweden.

    The event will take place from 2-4:45 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (2001 Northwest Blvd, Columbus, OH 43212).

    There is no entrance cost, but donations will be collected. 


    What to expect: 
      • Meet with friends and play kids' games. 

      • Masquerade in dress-up costumes (not mandatory). 

      • Enjoy some delicious snacks. (We encourage you to make and bring some!) 

      • Smash the Fastelavn barrel! 


      • Experience and learn about Scandinavian happiness and wellness!!
